The Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council founded the Green Starlettes Drill Team in 1993.  We have 12 divisions over the Houston,
Beaumont and East Texas Area.  It is now recognized as the largest special interest group within San Jacinto Council.  The purpose of
the Drill Team is to build teens confidence and give Girl Scouts a fun and exciting dance experience.  There are no try-outs to join the
team; any girl in the 4th thru 12th grade may participate.  The Girl Scouts create a non-competitive atmosphere for the girls to
practice coordination and team spirit.  Teams meet once a week to practice parade and dance routines, discuss upcoming
performances and events.  After one year on the team, girls may try out for an Officer position.  Officers display their leadership skills
as they guide their teammates and attend Officer meetings.  Each Spring, girls are invited to an awards banquet where they are
recognized for their achievements,
